Educational scope: History examines the rise of the British Empire, from early culture to today. Literature corresponds with the history, exploring British classics, including prose, poetry, and drama. Survey of science focuses on four major areas, which include mathematics, physics, biology, and chemistry. Biblical archaeology demonstrates how archaeology affirms history, from Egypt to Israel. Intro to Greek helps lay a foundation for New Testament Greek, including the alphabet, as well as a deeper study of the Bible.
Additional important concepts: This final year of high school begins the biggest transition time for students. They are preparing to leave a sheltered place in the home, and to find their way in the world, either in college or the workplace. The concepts most needed here involve written communication skills and an understanding of science that supports and affirms the Bible.
What makes it unique: British history and British literature are taught side-by-side, enhancing the understanding of each era more deeply. God’s authority over creation, history, and the scientific principles He established ensures that students know the truth and how to defend it.
Suggested weekly schedule: 3 to 4 hours per day, 5 days per week; first semester is approximately 30 to 40 minutes longer, Mondays through Thursdays.
